The VR88 original is a hand-crafted velocity ribbon microphone from Samson. It uses a pure aluminum corrugated foil ribbon in a strong neodymium magnetic field to deliver a warm, natural response with a smooth top-to-bottom. It handles high SPLs up to 138 dB, making it suitable for vocals, acoustic instruments and electric guitars. Included are a yoke mount, spider shockmount, right-angle XLR cable and a lightweight aluminum case, with a bi-directional, figure-8 pickup pattern.
